FLORIDA STATE'S TIANA BROCKWAY NAMED CS360 WEEK-5 TOP PRIMETIME PLAYER
Nine others round out the CS360 Primetime Performers Honor Roll, for week of Sept. 10-16.

Florida State senior central defender Tiana Brockway (Tacoma, Wash.) – part of a veteran back line for the Seminoles – has been selected as the top honoree among the week-5 CS360 Primetime Performers of the Week for Division I women's soccer, as selected by CollegeSoccer360.com (10 total honorees, listed below). Brockway is the CS360 Primetime Player of the Week for Sept. 10-16 and is joined by nine others in comprising the Primetime Performer Weekly Honor Roll for the fifth week of the 2012 season.

Brockway – who also was tabbed the CS360 Primetime Player of the Week during late October of the 2011 season – helped limit the quality scoring chances from Duke (cs360 #2) and (12) Wake Forest, as the top-ranked Seminoles opened ACC play with a pair of 1-0 wins over fellow 2011 NCAA semifinalist teams. Brockway also scored in the win over the Demon Deacons, after pushing forward on a counter-attack and alertly scoring in traffic midway through the first half. Jessica Price sent a 1-hop pass from near the left corner and Brockway alertly volleyed the ball off her right thigh – with the looping shot sailing over elite goalkeeper Aubrey Bledsoe and into the right side of the net.

Duke's potent offense totaled only five shots on goal vs. FSU and was held scoreless for the first time all season, while Wake Forest had four shots on frame and only nine total shots. Brockway played alongside fellow senior Ines Jaurena (left back) and junior central defender Kassey Kallman, who had returned days earlier from her gold medal-winning experience with Team USA at the Under-20 World Championship in Japan. Fifth-year senior right back Casey Short rounded out the talented veteran back four. The FSU defense has yielded only one goal over the past seven games, with four of those shutouts coming against some of the nation's top offenses (Duke, Wake Forest, Florida and UCF).

... Selection for the Division I women's CS360 weekly awards is based on any/all of the following "primetime" criteria (i.e. not solely based on raw stats):

• Performed at a high level in a game that is key to the team's postseason achievements, typically in a game involving a top-50 team from the CS360 Composite National Rankings (or in a game involving a conference favorite from a league not represented in the CS360 top-50).

• In general, preference is given based on the quality of the opponent, contribution to team success and other situational factors involved in the player's accomplishments.

• Exhibited strong leadership and/or involved in clutch performances, such as gamewinning goals, noteworthy comebacks, late scores, momentum-shifting play, all-around performance, team spirit, etc.

• Overcame adversity or extreme circumstances (for the team and/or individual).

• Bonus consideration is given for key performances away from team's home field and/or against a traditional rival.

The 10 week-5 honorees – the majority of them based in the defensive third – include five seniors, three juniors, a sophomore and a freshman. They hail from nine different home states, led by two from Colorado and one each from California, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Missouri, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Texas and Washington.

Listing of the 10 honorees follows below – as do player info. capsules (to be added) with action photos at bottom of page (headshots in right sidebar).
