University of Delaware sophomore midfielder Vincent Mediate (Highland Villave, Calf.) – who played a lead role for a Blue Hens team that secured an NCAA bid for the first time in 41 years (details below) – leads the way among the CS360 Primetime Performers of the Week for Division I men's soccer , as selected by CollegeSoccer360.com for games during the week of Nov. 7-13, 2011. Mediate (pictured at right(, the CS360 Primetime Player of the Week, is joined by eight other Division I players on the Primetime weekly honor roll.

... Selection for the Division I men's CS360 weekly awards is based on any/all of the following "primetime" criteria (i.e. not solely based on raw stats):

• Must have been playing in a game involving a top-40 team from the CS360 Composite National Rankings (or in a game involving a preseason conference favorite/leader), or performed at a high level in a game that is key to the team's postseason qualification/participation.

• In general, preference is given based on the quality of the opponent, contribution to team success and situational factors involved in the player's accomplishments.

• Exhibited strong leadership and/or involved in clutch performances, such as gamewinning goals, noteworthy comebacks, late scores, momentum-shifting play, all-around performance, team spirit, etc.

• Overcame adversity or extreme circumstances (for the team and/or individual).

• Bonus consideration is given for key performances away from team's home field and/or against a traditional rival.

..... Rookie frontrunner who factored into pair of key goals, as top-seeded UCI won Big West title and pushed its win total to a program-best 16; scored 35 seconds into 2-0 semifinal vs. #4 seed UC Riverside, heading in cross from Marco Franco (who received chip from Christopher Santana); his overtime blast off the post, with PKs looming, led directly to Miguel Ibarra's rebound goal that ended classic title-game battle vs. #2 seed UC Santa Barbara (105').

..... Helped 6th-seeded Phoenix claim program's first SoCon title, capped by 3-2 battle vs. top seed UNC Greensboro (his 48th-minute PK produced 2-0 lead); earlier helped edge #3 seed Georgia Southern (1-0 quarterfinal) and assisted on Chris Thomas 33rd-minute goal from top of box, in 1-0 semifinal vs. #2 seed Furman team that was 16th in the nation (highest-ranked opponent ever defeated by an Elon men's soccer team).

..... Colonial Athletic Assoc. tournament MVP, capped by factoring into both goals as 4th-seeded Blue Hens topped #2 Old Dominion in 2-1 final (sending Delaware to NCAAs for first time since 1970); followed his own shot to tie ODU (21'), later providing cross from left-corner that produced clinching own-goal (65'); assisted on John Dineen's tying goal (1-1; 21') in semifinal vs. top seed/host James Madison (2-2; 5-4 PKs); earlier converted his PK in semifinal vs. #5 seed Northeastern (0-0; 4-3); helped deliver first conference tournament title in program's 85-year history (Blue Hens, coming off 14 straight losing season, were picked to finish 11th in CAA but now have program-record 12 wins).
