Quick reminder that – on days when there are a lot of top-25 teams in action – the best way to track scores is via the Twitter feed (at left, also bottom of right sidebar as non-flash option that also shows the past 20 posts ... on the flash-feed, you can scroll down to see the past 20 tweets).
There are 40 teams currently ranked in at least one of the four top-25 polls – and all but five of those teams (Oklahoma State, Purdue, BYU, Duke and Auburn) are in action today. There are 30 total games today involving top-25 teams, most notably five "big games" with top-25 teams facing each other. Two big games have gone final: Santa Clara won at Georgetown in double-OT (2-0) and UCLA had an impressive 3-0 win over Florida (at Illinois). Homestanding Florida State is up 4-1 on Washington State ... Rutgers just scored in the 84th minute (1-0) and could knock off visiting Penn State ... and Texas plays at California (kicks off soon).
Other noteworthy scores from early-Sunday: North Carolina left South Bend with a 1-0 win over Marquette (two days after blowing past Notre Dame, 6-0) ... Long Beach State posted a convincing upset at Missouri (4-1) ... and Texas held off St. Mary's (2-1; @Cal), bouncing back from their loss to the host Bears.
